SOLUTIONS
elec calc IRVE makes it possible to model and size any type of low-voltage installation and, more specifically, it integrates the tools and all the controls associated with charging infrastructures for electric vehicles.
The software is aimed at electrical designers and installers. It allows them to size electrical installations while supporting them in the development of the expertise necessary for their EVSE qualification.

Features
Modelling and sizing with elec calc IRVE
elec calc's IntelliSense predictive interface is remarkably user-friendly and automatically offers the designer the logical next step in their installation diagram. These intuitive and flexible drawing features make for lightning-fast design with user friendly controls.
Real-time power balance
The software offers the ability to manage power balance in real time. So, by modelling your entire installation and applying the expansion factors, you will be able to control whether the installation can power these new receivers.
The importance of prescriptive controls
The constraints of charging an electric vehicle require significant energy for potentially long and repeated daily usage times. This can lead to increased risk of overheating if the equipment is not suitable. In the case of an existing electrical installation, verification is therefore essential. For each charging point, a specialised circuit protected by a circuit breaker must be created, as well as a differential current protection device.
An up-to-date multi-manufacturer database
elec calc integrates a multi-manufacturer database for all electrical components including EV charging stations. Our catalogue team, in conjunction with the various manufacturers, updates the database content daily in order to provide you with the most up-to-date product databases, thus avoiding the need to manually enter all the characteristics necessary for calculation and control.
With elec calc IRVE, electricians will be able to find all the necessary features for the sizing of power and safety devices for charging stations.
In addition, the elec calc software range has been referenced by the ELIE BT brand. The brand is intended to promote calculation software that has met the requirements of a technical reference framework defined by Gimélec. The ELIE BT brand is now a key reference for users wishing to comply with the French standards for calculating electrical installations.
Standards
The sizing of EV charging stations is governed by specific standards. Knowledge of the power supply network characteristics at the connection point is essential in order to define and optimise the choice of protection and its breaking capacity, as well as the type of differential protection for the installed terminal.
elec calc IRVE integrates all these controls.
In order to meet these regulatory requirements and the safety of goods and people, the elec calc software allows installers to take care of all the following controls:
· Adjustment of the upstream thermal protection by integrating a coefficient of 1.25 on the nominal current of the terminal
· The type of residual current differential devices
· The presence of protection integrated into the terminal (e.g. detection of 6mA leakage current, etc.)
When all the security points are validated by the software, the installation is considered to be compliant with the security criteria and standards in force.
