MODULES
Direct current module for Low Voltage installations
The DC module “direct current” is an add-on module for elec calc. It enables the sizing of auxiliary networks (instrumentation and control) and general distribution, excluding those relating to specific standardisation or regulations (photovoltaics, railway traction, etc.).
With the DC module, benefit from all the features of the elec calc software (manufacturers’ catalogues, drawing, layout, editions, exports, etc.) and develop the direct current and alternating current parts of your electrical installation in the same project.
Why use the DC module?
The DC calculation module is intended for low-voltage installations that do not fall under any specific standard up to 1500V.
It meets the needs of sizing auxiliary networks (control and command), distribution of sockets and/or lighting, etc.

Features
Calculations
the following calculations are carried out in the same way as alternating current installations, in accordance with the above-mentioned reference documents:
- Operating currents and power balance
- Cable sizing
- Calculation of short-circuit currents
- Sizing of overload protection
- Calculation of voltage drops
- Thermal stress calculation
- Normative reference: IEC 61660
Verifications to guarantee compliance with the reference documents
- and reporting, if necessary, the points of alert or non-compliance detected.
Choice of cut-off and protection devices
specific manufacturer's catalogues for cut-off and protection devices used in DC. The user can also manage his own catalogues as for the other components.
Standards
Reference documents
In the case of low-voltage networks, the applicable electrical installation standards are identical to those of alternating current networks, and in particular those of the IEC 60364 series or their national versions. For the calculation of short-circuit currents, refer to the IEC 61660 series of standards.
Compatibility with elec calc versions
The DC Module is compatible with all versions
