elec calc 2024 : renewable energy integration

Product News

25 November 2024

Trace Software announces the latest additions to its electrical calculation and sizing software, elec calc, developed in the last quarter of 2024. These include the integration of renewable energies, in particular wind power.

New wind source

To support you in the challenges of the energy transition, in particular with the development of smart grids, we have added a new energy source: wind power, which enriches all the sources already available. You can now simulate wind power production, in addition to the existing functionalities for modelling photovoltaic installations, whether it is a simple solar parking canopy or a utility scale power plant with reinjection on a HVA loop.

Wind sources can be integrated using the synchronized mode in any project, provided that the GRID version of elec calc is available (link to EC GRID). This will allow short-circuit current calculations to be performed and power flows to be visualized at all voltage levels, thanks to the ability to pair them with step-up transformers.

Configure your environment in elec calc and share it

A dedicated feature allows users to share elec calc’s environment configurations. Export the customization of your schematic library, your user catalog or the basemaps, and then easily import them to another computer.

It is now possible to apply a configuration to an existing project, thus allowing, for example, to use a custom display or to find the preconfigured values for each component.

We have also invested in the optimization of the calculation engine to reduce response times, especially for the most complex projects.

Our catalog has been enriched with the addition of 11,500 new equipment references.

Did you know?

Last September, Trace Software announced its merger with Green Systèmes, a software publisher for the optimisation and management of building energy systems. This union strengthens our position as a leader and thus meets the new expectations and constraints of our customers facing the challenges of the energy transition. With this new dynamic, we offer more complete software solutions, combining innovation, performance and expertise to transform territories, energy networks and buildings together.

To mark this milestone, we have renewed our visual identity with a modernised graphic charter and new logos.
